How to Join as an Expert
The Expert Knowledge Network is open to anyone who has special expertise in any industry segment. In some cases the knowledge and experience that qualifies you as an expert exists in the real world, within specialized industry segments or specialties within an industry segment without any formal mechanism for defining or certifying that expertise. In recognition of these growing areas of expertise that grow rapidly within specialized areas of knowledge and experience, we have established the following procedures to qualify experts wishing to join The Expert Knowledge Network. You may be admitted as a member in our network of experts under any one of the following admission procedures.
Initial registration
In all cases, you can begin the application process by completing the online registration form for Expert Users provided here. Your listing in our directory will be held pending approval under one of the following approval methods. Once your admission is confirmed by our admin staff, your profile will be published in the network.
Admission Processes
1. Recommendation by two experts in the network
This approval method requires that two Expert Users, already Expert members in The Expert Knowledge Network, recommend you. Please list these in the registration form. Confirmation of these recommendations by EKN admin services will qualify you for admission to the network.
2. Applicants with a postgraduate degree and recommendation by one expert in the network
This approval method requires that you have an advanced, postgraduate degree (e.g. Ph.D., Masters Degree, J.D.) and also requires that one Expert User already in The Expert Knowledge Network recommend you. Please list this expert in your application. Confirmation by EKN admin services will qualify you for admission to the network.
3. Recommendation by one premier expert in the network
This approval method requires that one Premier Expert in The Expert Knowledge Network recommend you. Premier Experts are Expert Users identified by EKN as having special expertise clearly established by their history, experience and achievements in a specific subject matter or industry segment and are recognized by their peers as providing leading expertise in their field. In most cases, Premier Experts are part of our core group of consultants and subject matter experts who have been working together for many years. This approval method is available only to those who work with or otherwise have a relationship with a Premier Expert.
4. Recommendation by review
This approval method may be requested by anyone who does not know any Expert Users already in the network. To apply for admission by this method, please complete the online registration form and request an Expert Review Form. Your knowledge, experience and achievements will be considered along with any special industry certifications you may have. At least two recommendations by colleagues familiar with your work are also required. These colleagues do not have to be Expert Users in the network but their contact information is required and they should be prepared to respond to inquiries from EKN admin staff, either by email or by phone. This process may take several weeks and require that you respond to additional questions from EKN admin services, either by email or by phone. Multiple Users may submit Expert Review Forms as a group. Please indicate that you are a part of such a group when applying together with others.
Note: Admission by this method does not qualify you as a Premier Expert. That requires an additional review process once you have been accepted as an Expert User by one of the admission processes described above. Admission to The Expert Knowledge Network as an Expert User does not guarantee that you will be considered for inclusion to the Premier Expert Group or that the Premier Expert review process will be offered.
The Expert Knowledge Network reserves the right to grant admission to the network as an Expert User based on its sole discretion. Acceptance also requires that you accept and agree to abide by 1) The EKN User Agreement and Terms of Use; 2) The EKN Privacy Policy; and 3) The EKN Copyright and Intellectual Policy. An optional, Content Producer Agreement is available for Expert Users interested in distributing and or monetizing content through services offered by The Expert Knowledge Network.
